Who pays us

What we take money for

The what-to-do-now checklist is free, forever, no account required. If a family wants the full companion — price-list comparison, the document tracker, the celebration-of-life planner — they pay $79 one time (or $129 for the Family tier). That's it. No subscription. No recurring charge.

What we don't take money for

• We take $0 from funeral homes — no referral fees, no paid placement, no "sponsored" listings.
• We do not sell family data, to funeral homes, insurers, or anyone else.
• We do not run bereavement lead-generation — no list of grieving families gets handed to a pre-need insurance company, a flower shop, or anyone.
• We do not accept payment to change, soften, or remove a price-fairness flag.

How the price-list data works

Funeral homes are legally required to provide an itemized General Price List on request (the FTC Funeral Rule). We collect published and submitted price lists, note the source and collection date on every comparison, and label thin data honestly instead of guessing. A funeral home can submit context or a correction on any flag attached to its own listing — we publish that alongside the flag, not instead of it.

If a family opts in

With explicit, opt-in consent, an uploaded price list can contribute — anonymized — to the Funeral Price Index, the public dataset that makes future fairness flags more accurate for other families. Opting in is never required to use any part of the product.
